Random Number / Picker

Random numbers in a range or random picks from a list, using a cryptographically secure RNG.

What this tool does

Two modes: number mode draws random integers within a range (optionally unique); pick mode takes a list, one entry per line, and draws N entries at random. Randomness comes from the browser's crypto.getRandomValues — a cryptographically secure source — with rejection sampling to eliminate modulo bias, so every outcome is exactly equally likely. Picking is a fair Fisher–Yates-style draw with no positional bias.

Typical use cases

Classroom cold-calling, team raffle draws, assigning turn order, settling “who buys lunch today”; generating random integers for tests; substituting dice in board games. Whenever a random decision needs to be fair and demonstrable, a tool you can run in front of everyone beats saying a number out loud.

Caveats

Draws are never recorded on any server (this site has none) — refreshing the page loses the result, so screenshot it if you need proof. For draws with real stakes (major prizes, contracts), use a notarized service rather than any web tool. Duplicate names in the list act as independent entries: to give someone higher weight, write their name on more lines.
