Create a website QR code and check it before sharing

Generate a PNG QR code from a complete website URL, choose size and error correction, save the image and check the destination on a phone.

How do I make a QR code for a website?

Paste the complete website URL into QR Code Generator, choose a size and error correction level, and run it. Save the preview using right-click or a long press. Scan the saved image on your intended device and check the destination before publishing.

Step by step

  1. Open the destination in your browser first. Copy the complete URL, including https://, into Content; avoid session tokens or private links.
  2. Start with size 320 and correction M. Use 480 when you need more pixels, but still test at the final displayed or printed size.
  3. Run the tool. Save the PNG preview using right-click on desktop or a long press on a supported mobile browser.
  4. Scan the saved image with a phone and confirm the actual URL. Repeat after placing it in your poster, document or website.

A worked example

Generated a preview in the local browser interface. No physical print or phone scanning test was performed.

Image dimensions were checked, not scan reliability. Test the saved code with your device and destination before sharing.

Size and correction are different controls

Available sizes are 240, 320 and 480 pixels. The correction choices are L, M, Q and H. Higher correction adds redundancy, which can also make the pattern denser for the same content. It does not guarantee a successful scan.

Keep the light border around the code and strong foreground/background contrast. Do not crop, stretch or cover the preview with a logo. A longer URL can need a denser symbol; use the simplest correct destination.

A saved code contains the text you entered

This tool creates a static image. It does not provide editable redirects, analytics or an expiration setting. To change the encoded destination, generate a new image; the linked website itself can still change or stop working.

The current interface saves through the image preview rather than a dedicated download button. Browser menus differ. Copying the result text copies the generation message, not the QR image.

More questions

Does a larger image guarantee it can be scanned?

No. Contrast, border, content density, display size and the scanning device all matter. Test the final version in its real context.

Can I use it for plain text?

Yes, but a scanner may display the text instead of opening a website. Include the full URL when a web destination is intended.
