Convert iPhone HEIC photos without uploading

Select HEIC or HEIF photos, choose JPG quality and optionally set a maximum width. Files are converted sequentially in a browser worker to keep the page responsive. Download a single JPG or a ZIP containing the successful results.

The decoder is downloaded from this site on first use. It needs a modern browser with Web Workers and OffscreenCanvas. If a file times out, reduce the batch size or try a smaller photo. Unsupported or damaged images are reported separately.

What is preserved

The tool exports the primary still image, not Live Photo video, burst sequences or every image in a multi-image container. It does not promise preservation of HDR, depth maps, original color profiles, EXIF or GPS metadata. Keep the original HEIC when those properties matter.

Output is JPG on a white background. A JPG may be larger than its HEIC source. The decoder uses heic-to and libheif; licenses and corresponding source links are available below the controls.

How to convert HEIC to JPG in your browser

1. Select up to 10 HEIC or HEIF photos, with a 10 MB limit per file and 50 MB per batch. Each decoded photo must be no larger than 40 megapixels.

2. Choose JPG quality from 10 to 95. Leave Max width at zero to keep the original dimensions, or enter a width to resize without enlarging smaller photos.

3. Run the conversion and download each JPG or the ZIP. Failed files are listed separately. You can cancel a batch and retry; each file has a 45-second processing limit.

Is HEIC to JPG conversion lossless?

No. JPG is a lossy output format. Raising the quality setting can retain more visible detail but may produce a larger file. Keep the original HEIC for editing, archival use, HDR or metadata that matters to you.

Why can a converted JPG be bigger than the HEIC?

File size depends on the source encoding, image detail, output quality and dimensions. Converting to JPG improves compatibility but does not guarantee a smaller file. Lower quality or width, or use the image compressor below for a specific KB limit.

Can I convert HEIC offline, and why might a file fail?

The first conversion needs an internet connection to download the decoder. Later offline conversion is possible if the site and decoder have been cached and the browser has kept that cache. Unsupported HEIC variants, damaged files, size limits, device memory or missing browser features can prevent conversion. Try a smaller batch in an updated browser; renaming the file to .jpg does not convert it.
